Congratulations!.....to the Tri-Town Babe Ruth 13s
Winners of the EMass Babe Ruth District 4 Champions  !
The Tri-Town 13's run at the EMass State Championship Tournament has ended....

July 21: Tri-Town lost a tough one to Taunton 4-3 in the State Semi-Finals Wednesday.

The pitching of Collin Sullivan kept the Taunton batters at bay.
The timely hitting of Kevin Lynch, Ryan Potcner, and Ethan Yau,
and errors by Taunton, allowed TTBR to push 3 runs across the plate to take an early 3-0 lead.

But an injury to Potcner sliding into 2nd forced him from the game.
Sullivan was knocked down and taken out covering home by an aggressive slide at the plate
while taking a throw from the catcher after a wild pitch.
Sullivan's leg was injured in the collision, and the wheels came off win wagon.
Even though Sullivan could not put weight on his injured leg,
he was still able to finish the inning, striking out 2 more batters.
But, in the process, a hit and 2 errors allowed Taunton to tie the game 3-3.

Ryan Joyce came in as the TTBR reliever and kept the Taunton hitters off balance.
In the 6th and 7th, TTBR could not muster another hit.
In the 7th, Taunton reached 2nd base on a fly ball error in centerfield.
With the infield in, Taunton pushed a hit through the right side into rightfield,
and the winning run for Taunton came home.

The TTBR 13s played as best they could, in the Districts and State Championship Series.
We are proud of them, and of the effort, hard work, and dedication that they showed as a team.

Congratulations to the 13s...........
